Seoul shares open at record high
A financial data screen in the dealing room of Hana Bank in Seoul on June 1, 2026, shows the benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index having risen 1.47 percent from the previous session to an intraday high of 8,600.45 in early trading. South Korean stocks opened at a fresh record high as investor appetite for tech shares helped offset uncertainty surrounding negotiations between the United States and Iran over a peace agreement.
