SEOUL, July 2 (Yonhap) -- Superband BTS will release a new song titled "Permission to Dance," which English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran joined in the song-making process.
A track list of the "Butter" single CD was posted on BTS' official
social media accounts and the new song is scheduled to release on July 9.
BTS' upcoming single CD will feature "Permission to Dance," along
with "Butter," which was released on May 21. Big Hit Music, the K-pop
act's agency, previously introduced "Permission to Dance" as "a
song that will move the rhythm in our hearts."
The songwriters and composers of "Permission to Dance" included
British producer Steve Mac, Johnny McDaid, along with Ed Sheeran, and Jenna
Andrews, who also participated in the production for "Butter."
BTS also collaborated with Ed Sheeran in the past with its fourth studio album
"Map of the Soul: 7" released last February.
Sheeran, who has a number of global hits, recently talked about his
collaboration with BTS during a U.S. radio interview, which raised anticipation
among numerous fans waiting to hear the new song.
BTS also recently released CD concept photos that showed members gathered
together, washing cars at a gas station,
and the seven members traveling to the beach.
The CD will also feature instrumental versions of "Butter" and
"Permission to Dance."
"Butter," released as a digital single in May, set a milestone by
retaining the No. 1 spot on Billboard's main singles chart for five consecutive
weeks.
