BRASILIA, July 27 (Yonhap) -- President Lee Jae Myung departed Brasilia on Monday after holding a summit with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, heading for Sao Paulo where he will attend a business event.

Lee and Lula agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation in natural resources and energy as part of efforts to diversify supply chains, building on the strategic partnership the two countries forged during Lula's visit to Seoul in February.

Lee arrived in Brasilia on Sunday as part of his three-nation trip to South America, which will also take him to Chile and Argentina later this week.

In Sao Paulo, Lee is scheduled to attend a business roundtable involving both South Korean and Brazilian companies seeking to explore opportunities for greater cooperation.

The president will also meet with members of the South Korean community in Brazil on Tuesday.
