By Song Sang-ho

WASHINGTON, Jan. 23 (Yonhap) -- South Korean Prime Minister Kim Min-seok held a meeting with U.S. Vice President JD Vance to discuss ways to develop bilateral relations at the White House on Friday, his office said, as Seoul seeks to address pending issues, including anticipated U.S. chip tariffs.

Kim arrived in Washington on Thursday, marking his first overseas trip as prime minister and the first standalone trip to the U.S. by a South Korean premier since the Asian country's democratization in the late 1980s.
