Trump-Iran negotiation
Trump voices willingness to wait a few more days for Iran's 'right answers'

WASHINGTON, May 20 (Yonhap) -- U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday expressed his willingness to wait a few more days for Iran's "right answers", as he has been pressuring Tehran to reach a peace deal to end the war with the United States.
Trump made the remarks during a press availability at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, noting that he will not give any sanctions relief to Iran until the Iranians sign a peace deal.
"If I can save war by waiting a couple of days so I can save people (from) being killed by waiting a couple of days, I think it's a great thing," he said.
Trump stressed that for a peace deal to be reached, the U.S. must get the "right answers" from Iran.
"It would have to be complete, 100 percent good answers," he said.
The president reiterated that the U.S. is "all ready to go," apparently renewing his threat to resume military strikes if a deal is not reached.
On Monday, Trump announced his decision to hold off on an attack on Iran, planned for Tuesday, warning that the U.S. could go ahead with a "full, large-scale" attack if a deal -- acceptable to the U.S. and countries in the Middle East -- is not reached.
Trump positively assessed Iranian negotiators, saying that they are "far more reasonable than the people that are really no longer with us."
"We are dealing with some people with talent, with good brain power, and we are pretty impressed by it," he said. "So hopefully, those people will make a deal that's going to be great for everybody."
He made clear that there will be no sanctions relief until a deal is struck.
"I am not doing any relief until they sign an agreement," he said. "No, we haven't offered anything."
