Downtown bus, subway lines diverted due to BTS concert
SEOUL, March 21 (Yonhap) -- Bus and subway lines passing through downtown Seoul will be diverted Saturday to reduce traffic around the time of K-pop group BTS' comeback show at Gwanghwamun Square, officials said.
The section of Sejong-daero connecting the square to City Hall has been closed to traffic since 9 p.m. Friday and will remain closed until 6 a.m. Sunday.
Other roads in the neighborhood will be closed for parts of Saturday, such as 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. for Sajik-ro and Yulgok-ro, and 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. for Saemunan-ro and Gwanghwamun Underpass.
At Gwanghwamun, City Hall and Gyeongbokgung subway stations, some exits will be shut from 5 a.m., while starting at 2 p.m., all exits will be closed. Trains will not stop at the stations until as late as 10 p.m., after the concert ends.
Buses traveling through Sejong-daero have been rerouted since Friday night, while those traveling on Sajik-ro and Saemunan-ro will be redirected starting at 4 p.m. Saturday.
All bus lines will resume services at 11 p.m.
Meanwhile, bike rental services and racks within 1 kilometer of the concert venue will be closed until 9 a.m. Sunday.
Special enforcement against illegal parking will also take place from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. Saturday in the Gwanghwamun area.
