NICE, France, Sept. 7 (Yonhap) -- South Korean President Lee Jae Myung on Monday left Nice, France, en route to Paris, where he will make a state visit and hold bilateral talks with his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron.

His departure came after he and Macron co-hosted a meeting in nearby Saint-Paul-de-Vence on the future of the film industry.

Lee is scheduled to arrive in the French capital later in the day, but his official state visit will begin Tuesday and run for two days.

On Tuesday, Lee will attend a one-on-one luncheon with Macron, followed by their summit talks and a dinner banquet to be hosted by the French president and his wife, Brigitte Macron, at the Elysee Palace.

The next day, Lee will meet Yael Braun-Pivet, speaker of the lower house of the French parliament, and Mathias Cormann, secretary-general of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), before heading home.

Lee and Macron are expected to discuss cooperation in security, the economy, science and technology, culture, and people-to-people exchanges as the two countries mark the 140th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
