SEOUL, May 21 (Yonhap) -- K-pop girl group NewJeans took to the official stage for the first time since the management dispute between their agency, ADOR, and HYBE came to light.

On the 21st, NewJeans performed at the '2024 Korea on Stage - New Generation' event held at the Heungnyemun Square of Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul, closing the evening with their performance.

Despite member Hyein’s absence due to a foot injury, the remaining four members delivered a captivating performance. Member Danielle also took on the role of host for the event.

The performance began with a video of their song 'Cool With You,' recorded at Geunjeongjeon Hall. The group then appeared on stage in different colored hanboks, performing three songs: 'Ditto,' 'ETA,' and 'Super Shy.'

The audience, gathered at Gyeongbokgung, waved light sticks in response to the colorful spectacle presented by NewJeans.

As the main performance commenced, NewJeans' pure charm and the multi-colored illumination of the ancient palace combined to create a mesmerizing visual experience. Particularly during 'Super Shy,' the members’ braided hair and the flowing hanbok skirts accentuated their dance moves.

The group clapped and encouraged audience participation, clearly enjoying their time performing at the historic venue. No comments were made regarding the ongoing dispute between ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin and HYBE.

Member Haerin expressed her gratitude, saying, "We've performed in many places, but showcasing our stage at the national heritage site of Gyeongbokgung is meaningful and an honor."

'Korea on Stage' is part of the '2024 National Heritage Visit Campaign' organized by the National Heritage Administration and the National Heritage Promotion Agency.

In addition to NewJeans, the event featured performances by artists such as Song Ga-in and Jang Min-ho, as well as teams from the musicals 'The Last Empress' and 'Hero.'
