SEOUL, Nov. 22 (Yonhap) --Asia Culture Center (ACC) is celebrating its 7th anniversary this Friday.
It has been playing as an experimental convergence and complex art power plant by creating and producing 970 works by themselves, but developing main contents that can lead Asia still remains as a challenge.
According to the Asian Cultural Center on Tuesday, it has accumulated 12.8 million total visitors since its opening.
1.4 million people visited ACC as of the end of October this year.
As the first president of the hall was inaugurated for the first time in seven years after Asian Cultural Center and its organization was integrated, it is laying the foundation for reorganizing its operation and builing it into a world-class complex culture and arts institution.
ACC has been working to create and produce experimental convergence and composite content, survey, research, exchange, and to contribute to the local community.
Of the 1,389 contents established by the hall, 71% of them, 970 cases were created.
ACC established a foundation for creation and production and presented experimental exhibitions and performances by conducting lab projects, operating international residences, and holding exhibition halls for convergence and complex content.
For "Earth Hour," which was open until November this year, the total visitors were 86,213 people, and the pilot exhibition "Treasure Ship 3.0-Time to Open Secret" based on Namdo cultural heritage also recorded 16,986 visits over three weeks.
This year's "Aqua Heaven," was visited by 75,000 visitors.
To build cultural exchanges and networks between Asian countries, the International forum on convergence and complex arts community and a creative space network seminar, which invited officials and artists from Asian culture and arts institutions, took place.
Last month, it held "Asian Culture Week" and presented about 30 programs including exhibitions, performances, education, and festivals to help understand the traditional cultures of each countries and diversity.
They also focused on collecting and researching Asian cultural resources, which become the foundation for discovering the subject matter.
They also created the Asian culture museum on the first floor of the cultural Information service into a complex cultural space where data can be stored (archived) and for exhibition.
140,000 people visited the website "Asia Culture Archive," where actual ACC materials can be viewed at once, as of the end of last October.
To play as a place for Asian culture and arts and a cultural and artistic space, works that showcase democratic, human rights, and peace values are presented continuously.
To become a place for culture by citizens, the Cultural Creation Institute and the Cultural Information Service expanded operating hours of every Wednesday and Saturday until 8 pm, and also opened the Sky Madang, which had been closed for around two years due to COVID-19.
Main colors were designated for each building and the tour line was drawn this year to increase convenience.
Although it has been growing for the last seven years, it is regrettable that no main content has been created.
Head of the National Asian Culture Center Lee Kang-hyun said, "The direction ACC should head to is to be a leading organization of complex culture and arts which presents a new path," adding, "We will take a great responsibility."
