SEOUL, Sept. 3 (Yohap) -- The national tour of "Mr. Trot Top 6 Concert" has officially come to an end after being repeatedly postponed and canceled due to the novel coronavirus outbreak.

Show Play, a production company, made an announcement on e-commerce company Interpark, saying, "The 'Mr. Trot Top 6 Concert' national tour will end here as the last concert in Seoul and Daegu have been cancelled."

The encore performances in Daegu had been postponed to Sept. 10-12 while the Seoul performances were delayed to Sept. 17-19 and Sept. 24-26. However, the current Level 4 social distancing rules has been extended for another month until Oct. 3, making it difficult to hold the concert.

The top six singers signed a one-and-a-half year management contract with agency New Era Project after the end of TV Chosun's trot competition show "Mr. Trot," which will expire on Sept. 12. Afterwards, it is expected to be difficult for all the singers to continue a concert tour as they will return to their respective agencies.

The national tour of "Mr. Trot Top 6 Concert" was originally scheduled to begin last April.

Although the tour was expected to attract audiences after gaining explosive popularity through the TV program, most of the schedules were not carried out normally except for some performances due to the widespread of the coronavirus.

"We sincerely apologize to many fans who have waited for the national tour concert for over a year and six months," Show Play said. "We ask for your generous support for the members who will be active in various fields."
