SEOUL, June 1 (Yonhap) – K-pop girl group aespa has been selected as Apple Music's "Up Next" artist for June.

"Up Next" is a monthly campaign published by Apple Music aimed at identifying and announcing rising stars that are expected to show great performances among rookie artists around the world. Various renowned global artists, such as Billie Eilish, Pink Sweats, and Conan Gray, were previously chosen.

aespa has become the second Asian artist to be selected for the title, following its senior group NCT 127.

Meanwhile, the group pre-released the track “Illusion” of its second mini album "Girls," which will be released next month, through major music platforms at home and abroad, including Apple Music, iTunes, Melon, and FLO.
