SEOUL, Jan. 19 (Yonhap) – South Korean veteran actors Ha Jung-woo, Ju Ji-hoon, Yeo Jin-goo, and Choi Min-ho from the group SHINee will be appearing in Tving’s soon-to-be-released original reality show “Ticketing with Bare Feet (translated).”
Actors Ha and Ju, who are also commonly referred to as the “Chungmuro’s Best Buddies,” will be appearing in the show with two young entertainers Yeo and Choi to show their unexpected charms. The crew will be carrying out unpredictable missions in New Zealand’s Mother Nature to win travel tickets for the South Korean youth. The number of travel tickets that they can hand out as gifts to the youth will increase each time they accomplish a mission.
It will be the first time Ha Jung-woo appears on a regular entertainment program; during the show’s online press conference held on Thursday, the actor said, “The program proposal made me want to go on a trip, and then I thought that something could come out if I get to go with my friend Ji-hoon.”
Ju Ji-hoon, also a newbie to reality shows, said, “It was also my first time to appear in this type of entertainment program, which was nerve-wracking, and it had freaked me out. Still, I thought it would be better to do with Jung-woo, so I said, “I will do it if you do it.”
In contrast to what they may seem from the outside, both actors – Actor Ha who easily gets faint-hearted and tears a lot, and Actor Ju who is amicable and talkative – will refer to each other as “girls,” implying that the actors will be revealing their intimate and soft sides that have never been unveiled to the public.
“Jung-woo may seem macho, with his thick and cool voice; however, he has these soft sides that he does not show very often, with him growing plants for over 10 years and cooking difficult menus,” Actor Ju added.
In addition to showcasing the unexpected charm of the two middle-aged actors, the upcoming show will also be telling the challenges that the cast encounter as they are asked to accomplish complicated missions in unfamiliar places.
Actor Ha said with a smile, “Our production crew pushed me so hard from the beginning that made me frightened,” adding, “I thought they were pressuring me on purpose since it was my first time to be in a reality show. I was so tired that I actually do not remember much about the first three or four days of the trip.”
South Korean entertainer Choi Min-ho and actor Yeo Jin-goo, the two young bloods of the show, also went along with how hard their journey was.
Min-ho said, “Based on the prior experiences I had in other reality shows, our show scored a 9 on a scale of 1 to 10 in terms of its difficulty. It was very challenging.”
Jin-goo added, “The age difference between the older brothers and me is 19; however, I could not feel any age gap, and how strong they are quite surprised me,” explaining, “I was able to see how thorough they are in managing their daily lives by watching them go for a walk even from the morning before shooting.”
Producer Lee Se-young said, “I once heard that Actors Ha and Ju are both well-equipped for reality shows, and I was able to watch and hear their own original humor sense and expressions,” emphasizing, “What makes our show different is that the more the cast suffers, the more youths will be happy as we have more number of tickets to hand out.”
“Ticketing with Bare Feet” will be releasing the first two episodes at 4 p.m. on Jan. 21, and will be releasing one episode a week afterwards.
