SEOUL November 03 (Yonhap) -- Webtoon Corporation will be awarding writer Lee Hyun-se with achievement award in celebration of “comic day” on Thursday.

Writer Lee Hyun-se is known for his work “A Daunting Team” and in 1997 he was charged with his work “Mythology of Heaven” for having profound scenes throughout the series.

Instead of paying for his fine, writer Lee Hyun-se fought for his innocence for six years, and in the end he was pronounced not guilty.

According to the committee, writer Lee Hyun-se’s effort to defend the right to express through works of writing has been accounted highly when it comes to picking the candidate for the award.
