SEOUL September 5 (Yonhap) -- K-pop girl group TWICE’s 11th mini album “BETWEEN 1&2” ranked third on the “Billboard 200” announced group’s agency JYP Entertainment on Monday.
According to the agency, “’BETWEEN 1&2’ which ranked third on the ‘Billboard 200’ tied with their personal highest score they have set with their third full length album.” adding “Out of K-pop girl groups TWICE wrote the record of placing most amount of albums within the top 10 of ‘Billboard 200’ by placing three of their albums.”
According to the data released by Billboard, TWICE’s album “BETWEEN 1&2” sold around 100 thousand copies within the United States rewriting their own record.
“Billboard 200” determines the ranking by adding up the numeric value of traditional album sales with streaming counts which goes under the conversion into a number of album sold (SEA values) and number of digital downloads which is also converted into a number of album sold (TEA Value).
TWICE’s latest album “BETWEEN 1&2” recorded total of 94 thousand albums sold an additional 6 thousand in SEA value.
Adding on to their report, Billboard stated “Just like other K-pop albums, TWICE’s latest album was released as a deluxe package with photo cards, stickers and more with total of 17 different collectible versions of their deluxe album.” adding “96.5 percent of the album sold within the first week of its release came from the actual CDs, where as 3.5 percent of the sales came from the digital albums.
