SEOUL, Nov. 3 (Yonhap) -- “Secret Royal Inspector & Joy” is a funny, cheerful series of attractive characters from which the watchers can receive healing, the leading actor and actress, Ok Taec-yeon and Kim Hye-yoon, said on an online conference Wednesday.

“Secret Royal Inspector & Joy” is tvN’s special series for their 15th anniversary. The comedy historical drama draws an investigation adventure of a good-looking young man, Ra Yi-eun (Ok) who unexpectedly becomes an inspector and a divorced young woman, Kim Jo-yi (Kim) who boldly goes after her happiness.

“It is a very free and novel kind of historical drama. Its characters’ perspectives on each other or on the world are quite different from other historical dramas. But it also includes matching points with its historical background, Joseon Dynasty as well,” explained director Yoo Jong-sun.

Ok introduced his role, Ra Yi-eun as “Ok Tac-yeon in the Joseon Dynasty,” emphasizing that it is quite similar with the actor’s real self.

He also added that he received the script when he was playing the psychopathic bad guy in “Vincenzo” and felt like its cheerfulness healing his emotions.

“Jo-yi is a confident character. I felt intrigued when I saw her line, ‘What is not is not. What has to be said will be said.’ She plays a big part in the investigation crew with her sharp eyes,” said Kim.

“When you see the characters’ individual stories, it must be hard for them to be so cheerful. But their attitudes toward the world are upright, reckless and honest,” said the director.

The first episode will be released at 10:30 p.m. on November 8th.
