SEOUL, Jan. 5 (Yonhap) – K-pop rookie girl group H1-KEY has mentioned at the showcase ahead of the release of the first single album “Athletic Girl,” “We want to deliver the inner beauty and confidence to many people.”
H1-KEY, which consists of 4 members, SEOI, RIINA, YEL, and SITALA, made a debut after 1 year of preparation.
H1-KEY is the first group introduced by GLG, which is the new K-pop label company of Grandline Entertainment, where hip-hop duo Geeks and singer-songwriter Stella Jang belong to.
The member RIINA introduced, “The name of our team contains positive meanings, such as ‘very,’ ‘really,’ and ‘intense.’ I think they match with our path and concepts very well.”
Meanwhile, SITALA, a Thai member who had been under controversy over her father's actions before the debut, clarified her position in public.
SITALA’s father, who performed as an actor and director, was reported to have participated in a protest against the Yingluck Shinawatra government in 2014, while supporting People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC), which is the pro-royal government.
However, as anti-government protests in 2014 ultimately served as a factor that caused a military coup, criticism arose in Thailand over SITALA’s father as well as SITALA’s debut.
SITALA said with a rather serious look, "I don't have any political position at the moment."
She emphasized, "At that time, I was too young and I didn't understand the situation well," adding, "I hope people with different opinions in Thailand could be in harmony in peace."
