SEOUL, Mar. 28 (Yonhap) -- South Korean hit webtoon “Dieter” is set to be adapted into a television series.
The Korean-based production house Studio Anic will be in charge of this adaptation along with Studio Girok. Both studios have kicked off dramatizing the webtoon, which will be based on a more expanded plotline than that of the original webtoon.
The webtoon “Dieter” is a work serialized in Daum Webtoon (current Kakao Webtoon) from February 2011 to July 2012, with Neon B and Caramel in charge of writing and illustrating, respectively.
The webtoon tells the story of a highly obese Shin Soo-ji, who gradually becomes both mentally and physically healthier after going on a diet and exercising with her health trainer Seo Chan-hee.
This webcomic scored a cumulative 440 million views and had more than 40,000 copies sold.
