SEOUL, Mar. 17 (Yonhap) – The comedy film featuring a car Stellar with the highest speed of 50 km per hour back in 1987 will be coming soon.
The movie “Stellar,” which is scheduled to be released on Apr. 6, is a chase comedy where a man, who works at a mortgage company that offers auto loans, chases his friend who betrayed him and disappeared with a supercar that belongs to his boss, and the script was written by Bae Se-young, who is responsible for the hilarious film “Extreme Job.”
Actor Son Ho-jun, who played the male lead Young-bae, said at an online press conference held on Mar. 17, "I really enjoyed the script," adding, "There were a lot of scenes where I had to act with a silent car, but Stellar was surprisingly good at acting."
Director Kwon Soo-kyung, who was in charge of directing, said, "Stellar was once the most popular car in Korea so the car will offer more than nostalgia in the film,” adding, "Since the car was discontinued a long time ago, we managed to search the car even before the scenario development and finally secured two cars for the shooting.”
Director Kwon, who is presenting his new work in 5 years since the movie "My Annoying Brother"(2016), explained, "’Stellar’ has a theme similar to my previous works ‘Barefoot Ki-bong’ and ‘My Annoying Brother,’” adding, "It contains a message that we should understand and protect our family members, who are the greatest value that should never be ruined in our society."
Heo Sung-tae, one of the male leads of Netflix's original series "Squid Game," which was a worldwide smash hit last year, also played the villain boss Seo in the film.
