SEOUL, Feb. 10 (Yonhap) -- As the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 per day enters the 50,000 range, the broadcast industry is also unable to avoid the aftermath.

Turbo JK Entertainment explained on Thursday, “Kim Jong-kook has been confirmed with COVID-19," adding, "Kim felt mild cold symptoms on the 9th, conducted a self kit test that tested positive and took a PCR test."

“Kim finished his second dose of vaccine and currently doesn’t have major health problems. He canceled all his schedules and is waiting for the guideline of quarantine authorities,” added the agency.

Kim is starring in SBS’s “Running Man,” “My Little Old Boy,” and Mnet’s “I Can See Your Voice S9.”

Yoon Taek also tested positive for COVID-19 on the same day.

Yoon is starring on IHQ’s entertainment show “Self-sufficient Expedition” (translated) and Hong Yoon-hwa, a fellow host of the program, was confirmed with COVID-19 the day before.

The IHQ variety show plans to adjust the program’s schedule as two hosts are confirmed with COVID-19.

The broadcast industry is worried as confirmed cases of the cast and the staff continue day after day.

tvN's new drama "Our Blues," which is scheduled to air this year, temporarily suspended filming as Lee Byung-hun was confirmed, while SBS's Monday-Tuesday drama "A Business Proposal" postponed its first broadcast date to the 28th as a confirmed case came out among the production crew.
