Hwang Hee-chan contributes 30 mln won to Pohangjecheol High School

SEOUL, Nov. 15 (Yonhap) -- South Korean football player Hwang Hee-chan, forwarder for Premier League club Wolverhamton Wanderers and attacker for the South Korean national team, has contributed fellowship to his old school, Pohangjecheol High School in Pohang City, North Gyeonsang Province.

On behalf of the football player, his father, Hwang Won-kyung, delivered 30 million won of development fund through a foundation for the school, according to Posco Educational Foundation, Monday.

The school is planning to use the contribution as scholarships and training fund for the school’s athletic clubs’ students.

Hwang who graduated in 2015 led the school to consecutive victories in 4 national contests. Just after graduation, he expanded his stage to Europe.
