SEOUL, Apr. 5 (Yonhap) -- Actor Lee Joon-gi returns to the small screen as an intense character who takes revenge. It is the first time in two years since the drama "Flower of Evil" (2020).

Lee introduced his work as a "drama which gives you a type of refreshing pleasure" at an online production press conference for SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama "Again My Life" on Tuesday.

Based on the web novel of the same name, "Again My Life" is about a passionate prosecutor who takes the opportunity to "reset" his life on the threshold of the afterlife after being unfairly killed.

Lee will play Kim Hee-woo, a prosecutor who returns after being killed unjustly and confronts Jo Tae-seop (Lee Kyung-young), a vicious politician.

Lee said he refused when he was first offered to star in the drama.

The actor said, "I had concerns about 'self-replicating' the role I played and led," adding, "As I was offered again, I thought I could show a new appearance as another character made from what I could do well and what I was worried about."

"I think this character is definitely different (from existing roles)," he said. "I've been taking revenge (personally) as a character who lost my parents or family, but in “Again My Life,” I share a goal with viewers and find answers to the justice we dream of."

Lee added, "Rather than a simple revenge, it is a role to reflect on one's life to realize justice and struggle to approach evil."

Actress Kim Ji-eun plays the role of Kim Hee-a, the only daughter of a rich family and Jung Sang-hoon plays Lee Min-soo, a senior and friend of Hee-woo.

The series will air on April 8 at 10 p.m.
