SEOUL, April 21 (Yonhap) -- More than 110,000 guests visited the BTS’s photo exhibition and the pop-up store which opened in time for the group’s U.S. Las Vegas concert.
114,000 people visited the pop-up store and the photo exhibition under the project "The City - Las Vegas," which was held from April 5~17 in Las Vegas, according to HYBE, Thursday.
"The City - Las Vegas" was various BTS-related programs created in time for the BTS concert.
The project was made for fans to not only watch the concert but also experience the BTS fountain show, a BTS-themed hotel room, and a photo exhibition.
HYBE explained, “70,000 and 44,000 visitors came to this year’s pop-up store and photo exhibition, respectively, which is 2.5 times more than the 45,000 visitors of this year’s “CES,” a tech convention that hosted about 2,000 showcases.”
About 123,000 payments were made at BTS’s pop-up stores and official merchandise stores.
HYPE said about 200,000 people (estimated by MGM Resorts International) gathered near the Bellagio Hotel, where a fountain show was held with BTS’s hit songs “Butter” and “Dynamite.”
In addition, about 3,500 BTS-themed rooms were arranged in the 11 hotels under MGM Resorts International.
HYBE explained, “More than 10,000 visitors went to restaurants that serve course meals with Korean dishes, which BTS members enjoy,” adding, “After the concert, pre-booked tickets for the after-party were sold out.”
“The City” project was also viral on social media.
On Twitter, there were more than 9.24 million hashtags related to “The City.”
There were also more than 8.5 million posts with #LASVEGAS hashtags on April 1~17.
HYBE emphasized, “The figure is up 1,300% compared to the same period last year,” adding, “It is 1.2 times more than the posts during the Grammy Awards in Las Vegas, just before ‘The City,’ and 8 times compared to CES period.”
HYBE plans to expand “The City” project by starting with Las Vegas.
