SEOUL, June 14 (Yonhap) -- Star writers the Hong sisters' (Hong Jung-eun, Hong Mi-ran) new tvN weekly drama “Alchemy of Souls” will be broadcasted for the first time at 9:10 pm on Saturday.

At the online production press conference of “Alchemy of Souls” on the 14th, producer Park Jun-hwa said the genre of this drama is “romantic fantasy play” and predicted that this complex genre will be something they have never seen before.

Producer Park showed confidence saying, “I paid attention to various fields such as CG(computer graphics), costumes, hair, shooting, lighting, special effects, location, and action.”

“Alchemy of Souls” is a story of protagonists whose fate is twisted through “black magic” that changes their soul, overcoming this and growing from it. This is the first new work that the Hong sisters have introduced in three years since “Hotel Del Luna”' (2019).

Lee Jae-wook, Jung So-min, Hwang Min-hyun, Yoo Jun-sang, Shin Seung-ho, Oh Na-ra, Jo Jae-yun and Yoo In-sue appear as magicians in this drama that is set in a great country that does not exist in history nor maps.

Producer Park said “The basis work for this drama is the relationship (between characters), and fantasy and romance are subtly drawn in to express the relationship. The characters grow in various ways, and it is also a key point to look out for in the drama.”

The cast members also agreed that they were immersed in the charm of this drama that is a mixture of multiple genres.

Jung So-min, who plays the role of Mu-deok, a weakling with the spirit of a murderer, said, “You will be able to meet various genres such as love action, and personal development like an all-in-one gift set.”

Yoo Jun-sang, who played the role of Park Jin, the head of Songrim, the largest company in a great country, said “You will be able to enjoy stories that you have never seen before with wonderful clothes, and make-up that suits the story.
