SEOUL, Sept. 1 (Yonhap) -- Chinese members of K-pop boy group Seventeen will temporarily hold off activities in Korea for a while and start activities in China.

On Weverse, a fandom platform, Seventeen's agency Pledis Entertainment announced that members The8 (Xu Minghao) and Jun (Wen Junhui) have decided to resume their activities, which had been postponed due to COVID-19, starting from October to December.

Pledis Entertainment added that the rest of the members will work as a 11-member group in Korea while the two members commit to activities in China.

"We needed to consider the current COVID-19 situation since traveling between countries is not easy and the members need time to be quarantined," Pledis Entertainment explained.

Recently, the agency announced that Seventeen is preparing a new album with the goal of releasing it next month. The remaining 11 members, excluding Jun and The8, are expected to be
included in comeback activities in Korea. Jun and The8 are known to be members of the performance team within the boy group.

Seventeen gaining more popularity after entering as No. 15 on the Billboard main albums chart "Billboard 200" with its latest mini-eighth album.

In July, all the members renewed their contracts with Pledis Entertainment, stressing to continue as "one team" in the future.
