SEOUL, March 9 (Yonhap) -- Actress Kim Hee-sun donated 100 million won to recover from forest fire damage in Gangwon-do and Gyeongsangbuk-do.

Red Cross said on Wednesday, “Kim Hee-sun donated 100 million won to support the victims of forest fires and the reconstruction of the lost forest.”

Kim Hee-sun said through the Red Cross, "We have donated to share the pain of neighbors who have lost their homes due to unexpected forest fires and to help rebuild the forest," adding, "We hope that the suffering victims will return to their daily lives as soon as possible and the destroyed forest will be restored.

The donation will be used to support temporary residential facilities and forest reconstruction activities for victims through the Red Cross branches in Gangwon and Gyeongbuk, where forest fire damage occurred.
