SEOUL, Dec. 16 (Yonhap) -- 21st century version of radio dramas, “audio film” will be released.
Audio film “Floor” will be released through Naver music platform VIBE on the 27th. The mystery thriller movie traces up a death case that happened at Mugwang Villa where noises between floors continue.
Total 120-minute long and 6-part film emphasizes its sounds and music with the actors’ voice-acts. Also, CG and subtitles are available on mobile screens.
The actors who played in the film said that the audiences being able to participate in the production through their own imaginations is the biggest strength point of audio movies, during an online conference Thursday.
“I took a role in the film thinking that it will be a piece that listeners may be able to imagine and enjoy. Focusing on the voice-act and not thinking about the visual was appealing as well,” said actor Lee Je-hoon who played profiler Kim Kang-ho.
“Like when you have to use your imagination when reading a book, audio movies are special in that listeners can actively participate in,” said actress Moon Chae-won who played detective Shin Ji-ho in charge of the case.
“I remember having used to listen to radio dramas when I was young. At first I was surprised whether this would work in the era of video contents, but it was fun,” said actor Kang Shin-il who took the role of the security guard.
“I wrote the scenario not limiting it into an audio movie and cast actors not voice-actors. Like the cases of movie-versions coming out after a series, I’m thinking about visualizing it as well,” said Lim Ji-hwan who directed and wrote the script for the production.
