SEOUL, Nov. 23 (Yonhap) -- Hyundai Motor's IONIQ 5 crossover utility vehicle and Tucson SUV will appear in Marvel's upcoming blockbuster "Spider-Man: No Way Home" next month.
"The IONIQ 5 and Tucson vehicles will showcase various action sequences in major scenes of the movie," Hyundai Motor Co. said Tuesday. "Both IONIQ 5 and Tucson models will maximize dramatic tension and catch the audiences' attention."
Last May, Hyundai Motor signed a strategic partnership with Sony Pictures, a film distributor for the "Spider-Man" series.
"Spider-Man: No Way Home," which will hit theaters in South Korea on Dec. 15, is the first work created through the partnership between the two companies.
Hyundai Motor also mentioned the first trailer for "Spider-Man: No Way Home," which was released in August, surpassed 335 million views in a day, recording the highest number of views for a movie trailer.
"It is not surprising that we have created groundbreaking contents in collaboration with Hyundai Motor, the epitome of leading technology and innovative designs," said Jeffrey Godsick, Executive Vice President, Worldwide Partnership for Sony Pictures Entertainment. "We believe Spiderman fans around the world will enjoy the movie more through this collaboration."
Thomas Schemera, executive vice president of Product and Strategy at Hyundai Motor, said, "The placement of the all-electric Ioniq 5 and all-new Tucson in 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' marks the first meaningful milestone in the strategic partnership between Hyundai Motor Company and Sony Pictures Entertainment," adding, "We expect great marketing impact from this collaboration."
