SEOUL, Nov. 15 (Yonhap) -- Namwon City of the North Jeolla Province, Korea National Park Service and Jeonbuk Culture & Toursim Foundation have finalized an agreement to start a tourism marketing at the Baemsagol Hiking Information Center using the drama series “Jirisan,” the three organizations decided Monday.
They are planning to widely promote the series’ shooting spots and reinforce humanmaterial resources to attract tourists.
Also, they will construct an infrastructure for tourism and develop various programs to gather tourists.
The series’ shooting took place in 35 locations in the Namwon region including Heungbugol Forest Resort, Cheonnyeonsong Pine Tree in Jirisan Mountain and Pine Tree Forest in Bujeol-ri.
The City officials are putting effort into commercializing tourism by setting up ranger theme parks on the shooting spots, establishing exhibition halls for the series and operating tour buses with the Korea National Park Service.
“Based on today’s agreement, tourism marketing using the series ‘Jirisan’ will pick up speed,” said Lee Hwan-ju mayor of Namwon City.
