SEOUL, Jan. 4 (Yonhap) – The first two episodes of Coupang Play’s upcoming original series “The Bait (Translated)” will be released on the 27th, the streaming service said.

The crime thriller series will track down the secrets surrounding a rare criminal who is known to have committed fraud worth 5 trillion won and died on the run as a suspect in a murder case.

Jang Keun-suk, the epitome of a Hallyu star who returned to filming five years after the drama “Switch” (2018), plays a righteous criminal Koo Do-han who attempts to reveal the truth of the case. He will be following the unexpected link between fraud from the past and the murder that he got involved in the present.


Heo Sung-tae, an actor known for the mega-hit Netflix series “Squid Game,” will be starring in “The Bait” as an ignoble, vulgar swindler No Sang-cheon. He will be showing the nasty sides of a criminal who has committed massive fraud and also a character who holds an important clue to the murder case.

Formerly announced to be released under the title of “The Chronicles of Crime (Translated)”, the thrilling series will be released by the title of “The Bait.” The Friday drama, directed by Director Kim Hong-sun, who is known for the movie “The Age of Rebellion” (2017), will be releasing a total of six episodes, two episodes every week.
