SEOUL, Apr. 5 (Yonhap) -- South Korean singer-cum-actor Park Jin-young, who is also known as a member of the boy band GOT7 that is currently on hiatus, will be enlisting in the military on May 8.
Park brought the news to his social space, writing, “I will be joining the Army for mandatory service. I will make sure to return as a better person after having many new experiences.”
The singer-turned-actor made his screen debut by starring in KBS’ television series “Dream High 2” in 2012 and made himself known as a member of GOT7 two years later. Since then, he starred in several hit television series, including “Yumi’s Cells” and “The Devil Judge,” as well as Netflix’s action-packed flick “Yaksha: Ruthless Operations.”
He also continued his singing career by dropping his debut solo album “Chapter 0: WITH” last January and held a fan concert in commemoration of his 10th debut anniversary.
