SEOUL October 06 (Yonhap) -- “2022 Korean Drama Festival” will kick off on October 8 and continue on until November 3 at Gyeongnam Culture and Art Center and its surroundings, announce the Korean Drama Festival committee on Thursday.

“2022 Korean Drama Awards” will kick off with the red carpet event at the square of Gyeongnam Culture and Art Center featuring star actors and actress, and those within drama industry on October 9 at 5 p.m.

Continuing on, at 6 p.m. on the same day the real Festival will begin under the lead of Kim Hwan, and Kong Suh-young announcer at the Grand hall of Gyeongnam Culture and Art Center.

“2022 Korean Drama Awards” will be giving out total of 13 different awards, among dramas loved within a year, also K-pop boy group Up10tion will be performing on stage to celebrate the kick off of the event.

“Alchemy of Souls,” “Ghost Doctor,” Twenty Five Twenty One,” “My Liberation Notes,” “Business Proposal,” along with Netflix drama “Narco Saints,” “Monstrous,” and more dramas provided through over the top media will be competing against one another throughout the award ceremony.

The highlight of the award ceremony, the Best Performance Award of the “2022 Korean Drama Awards “ will be competed between actor Kim Nam-gil from “Through the Darkness,” actress Kim Tae-ri from “Twenty Five Twenty One,” actor Ha Jung-woo from Netflix’s “Narco Saints.” and actress Park Eun-bin from “Extraordinary Attorney Woo.”

“KDF Concert” will take place on October 9,

K-pop artists Woo Side, Heo Joo, LIGHTSUM, and Pentagon will perform mixed genre tracks of familiar OSTs and K-pop.
