SEOUL, July 3 (Yonhap) -- "This is the first time I've played a character as ice-cold as this. It was refreshing." Actor Shin Ha-kyun introduced his role during the online production presentation for tvN's new drama 'The Auditors' on the 3rd.

"I play a character who, once he sinks his teeth in, never lets go," he added.

Premiering on the 6th, 'The Auditors' focuses on the often-overlooked audit team employees, who are usually seen quickly packing computers and documents into boxes before making a hasty exit. Shin Ha-kyun plays Shin Cha-il, the team leader of JU Construction's audit team. With neatly combed hair and dressed in a black suit, Shin Cha-il is a cold and decisive figure who deals ruthlessly with anyone involved in corruption, regardless of age or gender.

Shin Ha-kyun mentioned, "I was concerned that the extensive dialogue might come off as tedious, but I delivered it while considering the tempo and rhythm. It was a new challenge for me." He added, "Since Shin Cha-il is an aggressively auditing character constantly exposed to danger, he carries around a gas gun and a taser. You can look forward to some thrilling action scenes."

"I'm a really good runner. I even chase cars quickly. You'll see a variety of action scenes. (laughs)" Despite his seemingly emotionless demeanor, Shin Cha-il begins to change after starting to work with new recruit Goo Han-soo. Goo Han-soo is a warm-hearted and trusting person who tends to see the world through rose-colored glasses.

Lee Jung-ha, who plays Goo Han-soo, explained, "Initially, Han-soo finds the overly cold Shin Cha-il uncomfortable and unlikable, but gradually he starts to admire him, and eventually, the two become similar." He highlighted the enjoyment viewers would get from watching these two very different characters influence each other.

Jin Goo plays the role of JU Construction's vice president, Hwang Dae-woong. Jin Goo commented, "At first, I hope you hate my character, but as the story progresses, you'll start to understand him on a more human level." He added, "From the audit team's perspective, Hwang Dae-woong's actions may seem like embezzlement, but he believes he is acting righteously. As the story unfolds, viewers will become curious about what Dae-woong considers to be justice."

Director Kwon Young-il said, "We added the excitement of an action drama to the office genre. The show covers relatable issues beyond just embezzlement and breach of trust, including office affairs, hiring corruption, technology leaks, and workplace bullying."

"The first shoot was the debut scene of Team Leader Shin Cha-il. It was a moment where everyone could see why people call Shin Ha-kyun a 'god of acting.' The actors delivered performances that exceeded expectations."
