SEOUL October 05 (Yonhap) -- Realistic romance drama about friends becoming lovers, airing ever Wednesday and Thursday, “Love is for Suckers” by South Korean broadcasting provider ENA will be premiering soon.
“I have tried my best to take a step forward from the original romantic comedy drama by incorporating more realistic aspects to it.” adding “Even for those who consider themselves as irrelevant and has nothing to do with love or romance, if they watch the drama the dried out love cells will revive.” addressed producer Choi Kyu-sik during the press conference of the drama held on Wednesday.
“Love is for Suckers” is a drama about Koo Yeo-rum acted by actress Lee Da-hee and Park Jae-hoon acted by Choi Si-won who has been friends for the past 20 years reunite as a producer of a reality show and as a star of the show and their love story which begins from their unexpected encounter.
“The romance reality show appearing within the drama provides individual romance story line.” adding “The reality show appearing within the drama digs deep down into the emotional ups and downs of relationship.” described producer Choi Kyu-sik during the media showcase.
While looking back at his visit to the production site of ENA’s “Im Solo” producer Choi stated “When I visit the scene of the production they were showing the raw footage of everything. Therefore I tried to incorporate that aspect into my production by adding raw aspects of romance reality show.”
Actress Lee Da-hee will act out the producer Koo Yeo-rum of the romance reality show “Kingdom of Love” which appears within the drama “Love is for Suckers.”
“As a female within their mid-thirties, while acting out the character I could closely relate to the life of a protagonist.” adding “Looking at Park Jae-hoon, a male friend of female protagonist, I thought it would be nice to have a male friend like him.” actress Lee Da-hee addressed during the press conference for her upcoming drama.
Moreover, actress described “I have been acting out very cold, callous characters, therefore when people think of me they think of cold hearted person, however, the role I have within ‘Love is for suckers’ my character is somewhat close to a friendly sister.” adding “The one I get to act out within ‘Love is for suckers’ portrays who I am more accurately.”
A male protagonist and plastic surgeon Park Jae-hoon who will be going through a romance with female protagonist Koo Yeo-rum will be acted out by actor Choi Si-won.
“Since I act out the role of a doctor, there were words I had hard time memorizing,” adding “I asked my doctor friends, of guidance, and he told me that doctors tend to say it pinches before they actually inject the medicine. I took those into consideration while acting out my role.” addressed actor Choi Si-won during the press conference.
