SEOUL, March 11 (Yonhap) -- "The secret to our longevity? All members compromise and consider each other, embodying the slogan 'Just Do It' like a brand." (Son Dong-woon)

At a press conference commemorating the release of their fifth mini-album, "Switch On," held online on the 11th, the members of the group Highlight stated, "After another 15 years, and then another 15 years after that, won't we eventually reach our 60th anniversary? We must continue until then."

"Switch On" marks the release of a new album by Highlight after a year and four months. The four members, who celebrate their 15th anniversary debut this year, imbued the meaning of "turning on the light" with a special sentiment.

Debuting as a group called BEAST in 2009, the four members have released hit songs such as "Breath," "On Rainy Days," and "Fiction," establishing themselves as popular second-generation idol groups. They changed their name to Highlight in 2017 after moving to a new agency. Highlight continued to receive love by topping TV music programs with songs like "Don't Be Sad" and "Alone."

Lee Gi-kwang stated, "I'm very grateful for the 15th anniversary, but for the upcoming 'anniversaries' as well, I will sing and dance with the members to the best of my ability." Yoon Doo-joon said, "Making our 15th anniversary happy by finishing this year well is the first thing Highlight should do."

The album includes the title track "BODY" as well as songs that announce a new activity like illuminating the stage, such as "Switch On" and "Feel Your Love," which feature a retro-style synthesizer sound, and "How to Love," a fresh song about the process of love.

Member Lee Gi-kwang participated in the lyrics and composition of three songs, "Switch On," "How to Love," and "In My Head."

The title track "BODY" is Highlight's first attempt at a house-style song, containing a confession of love that says, "This moment with you is the most precious."

Lee Gi-kwang said, "The image that many people and fans feel about Highlight or BEAST would be 'dance songs with lyrical lyrics and melodies'," adding, "That's good enough, but this time, I wanted to bring a fun and enjoyable song suitable for the season."

He added, "This time, 'BODY' captures both wit and coolness at the same time."

Yoon Doo-joon said, "When we debuted 15 years ago, we didn't have the luxury of thinking about the future, but I couldn't have imagined being in this situation 15 years later," and added, "At that time, I vaguely thought (15 years later) the group might have disbanded or our professions might have changed. But to still be able to be here with tension on the day of album release is admirable."

"We can be proud that we haven't strayed from the path we've walked so far. Our goal for the future is to continue this tension and excitement with the members for an even longer period. Our short-term goal is the success of the album. I really hope for it. Haha." (Yoon Doo-joon)
