SEOUL, July 3 (Yonhap) -- Singer Lee Chae-yeon has released her third mini-album, 'SHOWDOWN,' on the 3rd, as announced by her agency WM Entertainment. This album is her first new release in 10 months since her debut single 'The Move: Street' in September last year.

The album title 'SHOWDOWN' signifies a decisive battle in sports, reflecting the album's exploration of the confrontation between one's current self and another contrasting self. Lee Chae-yeon has incorporated a variety of styles into the album to portray these conflicting personas, actively participating in the songwriting and choreography for the new release.

The title track, 'Don't,' is a dance song that incorporates familiar sounds like cellphone vibrations and ringtones to create a new auditory experience. The song's repetitive lyrics and catchy melody address the dual nature of breakups, a situation many have experienced at least once.

The album also includes 'Summer Heat,' a track with marching drums and oriental sounds reminiscent of a passionate dance party; 'Supernatural,' which humorously expresses gaining a mysterious power to read someone's mind; and 'Dreaming,' a song co-written by Lee Chae-yeon expressing her love for her fans. In total, the album features five tracks, each showcasing a different aspect of her artistry.
