SEOUL September 26 (Yonhap) -- South Korean artist, Kim Soun-gui based in France will be showcasing her artwork through her exhibition “Lazy Clouds” in Europe.
Starting from September 10 up until February 5 of 2023, Exhibition “Lazy Clouds” will be held at the center for art and media Karlsruhe shortened as ZKM, addressed National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Korea, known as MMCA and KZM on Monday.
ZKM and MMCA collaborated on the exchange exhibition of artist Kim Soun-gui who is interested in conceptual and technological art and Peter Weibel, is a first segment of ZKM’s special exhibition of female media artist.
Exhibition “Lazy Cloud” being held in Germany is based off of artist Kim Soun-gui’s exhibition held in Seoul by the same name from August of 2019 to February of 2022, and total of 147 art pieces are exhibited in Germany.
Art director of MMCA, Yoon bum-mo stated “This art exhibition encompasses, the dedicated path Kim Soun-gui has walked as a poet and the artist.” adding “I am very glad that the project which has started from the meeting of MMCA’s artist research society has managed to open its exhibition in Europe and greet foreign audience.”
Since it is an exchange exhibition, artist Peter Weibel’s exhibition will kick off on Feburary 4 in 2023 and it will continue on until May 14 under the title of “Peter Weibel: Retrospective.”
