SEOUL September 14 (Yonhap) -- "I hope the first thing that comes to people's mind when they see the sunflower would be me."

K-pop girl group Weki Meki's member Choi Yoo-jung has started her journey as a solo artist with her first solo single album "Sunflower" after being part of K-pop girl group for 6 years.

"I would like to show the world what I love and what I am good at." described her thoughts regarding her debut as a solo artist, throughout the media showcase held in Gangnam Seoul on Wednesday.

Within the album Sunflower Cho Yoo-jung included total of 3 unique tracks, starting with her title track "Sunflower : P.E.L" followed by "Tip Tip Toes," and "Owl."

"Sunflower: P.E.L" is a mixed pop R&B genre or music with the lyrics depicting the importance of enjoying the youth and making good memories while it lasts since it cannot be grasped or kept forever.

Before Choi Yoo-jung's grandfather passed away, he would draw pictures of sunflowers and say there are a lot of similarities in between the sunflowers and his granddaughter.

"That is when the sunflowers started to mean a lot to me." described Choi Yoo-jung on how she decided upon the title track for her first solo single album, throughout the media showcase.

"Tip Tip Toes" is a medium tempo R&B track with hip-hop beat and a melodic line played by the piano.

"This track is perfect for those who are leaving work or heading out to meet your friends when you are feeling free and want to enjoy the freedom." addressed Choi Yoo-jung throughout the media showcase.

Continuing on "Owl" is R&B track based on a groovy drum beat. The dance moves which goes along the lines of "Like a sleepless owl" throughout the track was created by Choi Yoo-jung's father.

"That is probably my favorite part within the track 'Owl'" adding "I love you father." Choi Yoo-jung brightly smiled throughout the media showcase.

After her initial debut in 2016 it took Choi Yoo-jung six years to make a solo debut.

"I thought a lot about whether it is ok for me to take the stage by myself." adding "I think because I wanted to do my best in group activities slowed down the process of releasing solo tracks." announced Choi Yoo-jung during the media showcase for her upcoming first solo single album "Sunflower."

After the project k-pop girl group "I.O.I" activities has come to an end in 2017, Choi Yoo-jung once again debuted as a member of 8 member k-pop group "Weki Meki."
