Aespa to drop first mini-album 'Savage' on Oct. 5

SEOUL, Sep. 23 (Yonhap) -- Girl band Aespa, who took the music chart by storm with “Next Level,” will return with “Savage,” their first mini-album, on Oct. 5.

This will be the bands turning point as it is their first album after releasing only singles such as “Black Mamba” and “Forever” since debut in November.

They have attracted the K-pop fans’ keen interest as they were SM Entertainment’s new girl-group in 6 years after Red Velvet and with their unique concept of ‘avatar universe.’

Aespa secured popularity with “Next Level,” released in May, taking over 1st places outrunning other veteran singers on South Korea’s major music charts such as Melon and Genie Music.

The upcoming album will begin to show their avatar universe with 6 tracks including the title song “Savage.”

In the recently unveiled teaser photos, the members in illusions due to ‘Black Mamba’ which threatens the world and prevents the connection between the members in the real world and their virtual avatars ‘ae.’

A physical CD cased in a form of ‘P.O.S,’ a path for the ‘ae’ to go in and out to meet the real members.
