SEOUL, Jan. 26 (Yonhap) – The National Museum of Korea will hold a special live exhibition, titled “Six Centuries of Beauty in the Habsburg Empire” on Naver TV at 7 p.m. on Friday, the Museum announced Thursday.

During the special live broadcast, the hosts will be going around the exhibition that is currently held at the Museum and giving out explanations on the displayed artworks.

Yang Seung-mi, an academic researcher who was in charge of organizing the exhibition, and Kang Hoon, a South Korean actor, will be introducing the main works on display; a question asked regarding the exhibition during the live broadcast will be answered directly with comments from Researcher Yang, who is also the curator of the exhibition.

“We will be able to show a different side of the Habsburg Empire, which we have encountered mainly in the historical context. The exhibition will show the royal family as a supporter and collector of magnificent artworks,” said an official from the National Museum of Korea.

The National Museum of Korea joined hands with the Vienna Museum of Art in Austria to hold this special exhibition “Six Centuries of Beauty in the Habsburg Empire,” which will shed light on the works of the Habsburg Empire – the royal family that has been at the center of the European history for about 6 centuries.

Visitors to the exhibition will be able to appreciate 96 artworks collected by the Habsburg royal emperor and archduke, including the prestigious Diego Velazquez’s “Infanta Margareta Teresa in a White and Silver Dress.”

The exhibition will be held at the National Museum of Korea’s special exhibition room until Mar. 1.
