SEOUL, April 3 (Yonhap) -- Actress Kim Hye-yoon, the lead cast of the upcoming romantic comedy "Lovely Runner," said she incorporated her experiences with her fans into her acting, despite never having been a fan herself.

 

Kim’s remark came on the 3rd during the online production presentation for the tvN’s new series.

 

The show tells the story of a woman who travels back in time to save her favorite celebrity, who had tragically passed away.

 

Kim Hye-yoon portrays the lively and charming protagonist, Im Sol, who finds solace in the music of top star Ryu Seon-jae after a life-changing accident leaves her with a paralyzing injury. Despite her cheerful demeanor, Im Sol harbors deep sadness within her heart.

 

Upon learning that Ryu Seon-jae, her beloved star, had met an untimely end due to exhaustion from his celebrity life on January 1, 2023, Im Sol finds herself in a strange place, where she awakens as her 19-year-old self. Determined to save Ryu Seon-jae, Im Sol embarks on a journey to alter the course of destiny, despite being trapped in her adult body from the past.

 

Portraying the role of Ryu Seon-jae is actor Byun Woo-seok, who described his character as a top star who had gained recognition over the past 15 years of his career. Byun Woo-seok emphasized the contrast between Ryu Seon-jae's past and present personas to highlight his transformation from an ordinary high school student to a prominent celebrity.

 

Director Yoon Jong-ho expressed that the drama explores the poignant and sweet romance between two individuals who find each other amidst the complexities of time travel. He also revealed that the script was written with Kim Hye-yoon in mind, underscoring the significance of her role in bringing the story to life.
