Sergeant Park Bo-gum as instructor for Navy recruits… “Be careful with every word you say”

SEOUL, Feb. 11 (Yonhap) -- Actor Park Bo-gum (29), who is working as a sergeant in South Korea’s navy, served as a daily instructor for junior recruits and gave advice on military life.

Sergeant Park provided “Exemplary leader soldier success story education” to the 680th year of trainees at the Navy Education and Training Command in Changwon, South Gyeongsang Province, according to the Kookbang Ilbo newspaper, Friday.

Park Bo-gum, who rose to the podium as an instructor for the day, said, "I send my support to you all who have safely finished the 6-week training and are on the mission to protect the territorial waters,” adding, “I hope you can become each other’s strength and support.”

Sergeant Park emphasized strong fellowship and said, "We need to participate in creating a healthy military culture with beautiful words and actions that pay attention to every word you say to your comrades.”

He also advised, "In order to achieve a meaningful military life, you should use your personal time to train your body and mind, and not neglect your efforts to improve your intellectual skills.”

Park, who has passed a state exam to become a licensed barber, will be officially discharged from the military on Apr. 30, 2022.
