SEOUL, Sept.28 (Yonhap) -- A new Netflix series will be produced, depicting the story of two youths fighting against a monster born out of greed.
Netflix announced on Wednesday that it has confirmed the production of "Gyeongseong Creature" and cast actors Park Seo-joon, Han So-hee, Su-hyeon, Kim Hae-sook, Jo Han-cheol, and Wi Ha-jun.
Set in Gyeongseong in 1945, "Gyeongseong Creatures" is a thriller about a monster that shakes Gyeongseong and those who fight against people who are more monstrous than the actual monster.
Park Seo-joon plays Jang Tae-sang, the wealthiest man in Gyeongseong who values money over justice, and Han So-hee plays Yoon Chae-ok, a scavenger who has traveled across Manchuria and Shanghai with her father since childhood to find missing people.
Soo-hyeon will take the role as Maeda, the mistress of the family who commands the Gyeongseong area, Kim Hae-sook as Nawol-daek, the butler of the pawnshop Geumokdang.
Jo Han-cheol plays Yoon Jung-won, the father of Yoon Chae-ok who chases after a missing case to find his wife ten years ago, and Wi Ha-joon plays Jang Tae-sang's best friend and also soldier Kwon Jun-taek.
Kang Eun-kyung who wrote dramas "Dr Romantic" and "Gu Family Book" will write the script, and director Jeong Dong-yun of "Stove League" will direct.
