Jeju Olle Trail exceeds 10 mln cumulative visitors in 16 years

JEJU, Feb. 28 (Yonhap) – Jeju Olle Trail, which started a craze for walking tours, has surpassed 10 million cumulative visitors in almost 16 years since its opening.

It was aggregated that 10,057,084 people visited 26 trails of Jeju Olle from September, 2007, when Olle Trail was first introduced to the public, to the end of January, 2022, according to Jeju Olle on Monday.

Jeju Olle, which established all 26 routes in 2012, had 4,464 visitors who completed the whole route last year, which showed a great increase from 2020(2,778 visitors). 46 foreign visitors also completed the trail last year.

Olle Trail, which spreads out over the circumference of volcanic islands, shows the nature, history, and culture of Jeju Island by featuring stone walls, coast, volcanic cones, and Gotjawal Forest, which connect the fields and villages. It was also designated as the Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization(FAO) in April, 2021.

Olle Trail contains a total of 26 courses, including 21 main routes and 5 subsidiary routes, and is 425 kilometers in total.
