SEOUL, December 29 (Yonhap) --- Entertainment agency RBW recently held a board meeting and announced that they decided to take over 50 percent business shares of the variety show and drama content creation company Urban Works.
RBW will purchase 300,000 Urban Works shares (50% stake) held by Wysiwyg Studio for 33,333 KRW per share. The stock trading contract is scheduled to be signed on January 2 2023.
"We plan to plan and produce various content marketing programs to maximize the value of our artists and music intellectual property (IP) through the acquisition of Urban Works," said Kim Jin-woo, CEO of RBW.
RBW took over WM Entertainment, agency of OH MY GIRL and B1A4, last year, and is expanding its scale by taking over DSP Media this January, agency which produced Sechs Kies and Fin.K.L..
Urban Works is a media company established in March 2009, and has produced various contents such as KBS 2TV's "Superman is Back," SBS's "Running Man," and Channel A's "Dr. Oh's Golden Clinic."
