SEOUL, Oct. 14 (Yonhap) -- Celebrating the 100th anniversary of the discovery of the Gold Crown Tomb (Geumgwnachong in Korean) of the Silla Dynasty, Gyeongju National Museum will hold a special lecture for 3 times from Oct. 28 to Dec. 3.

Under the theme, “Silla Gold Crown investigation 100 years” (translated), professor Lee Han-sang of Daejeon University will take the first lecture on the 28th and on the 19th, professor Jeong In-seong of Yeungnam University will lecture “Events surrounding the Gold Crown” (translated) and on December 13th, researcher Kim Dae-hwan of Gyeongju Museum will deliver the 3rd lecture, “Why did we re-excavate the Gold Crown Tomb?” (translated).

Also, for the 100th anniversary, the museum has been specially revealing a large sword with “Yisajiwang” engraved on from Sep. 27.

The Gold Crown Tomb from which the golden crown of the Silla Dynasty was first found was discovered during a house construction in 1921 and from the relics excavated from the tomb in 2013 and 2015 had inscription, “Yisajiwang” and “Yisajiwangdo,” on them, respectively.
