SEOUL, July 31 (Yonhap) -- The Seoul International Alternative Cinema & Media Festival (NeMaf), which encompasses both film and exhibition, will be held from August 1 to 7 in Seoul, marking its 24th year.
Feature 87 works from over 30 countries, the cinematic event will be held in various locations, including KT&G Sangsangmadang in Mapo-gu, Seoul, according to the festival's secretariat on the 31st.
The opening films include the short films "Who Are You," which compiles 100 photos of Korean adoptees, "Myanmar Anatomy," which reflects on Myanmar's past, and "Leonard Memory Method Example," which captures glimpses of urban redevelopment in Korea.
An exhibition themed "Embalmed Data, Wandering Memories" will also be showcased. In commemoration of the 70th anniversary of Korean overseas adoption, nine works on the subject of adoption will be presented.
The festival will also feature a special exhibition of works by artist Hyunkyung Lee, who is active mainly in London, as well as an international exchange exhibition of video art from Japan.
