SEOUL, Aug. 29 (Yonhap) -- Amid the continuing spread of the COVID-19 infection in the entertainment scene, Jang Won-young, former member of girl band IZ*ONE, has been tested positive for the infection.

After being informed that Jang and An Yu-jin’s schedules overlapped with a staff who has been tested positive for the virus, the two artists took tests resulting in positive and negative respectively, according to their agency Starship Entertainment Sunday.

“Jang is taking necessary measures according to the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KCPA). An will stop all planned schedules and go into self-quarantining,” said the agency.

“We will continually comply with the quarantine guidelines and strive for the health and safety of all our artists and staffs,” added the agency.

Singer Song Ga-in has been tested positive for the COVID-19 infection as well.

“Song who wasn’t feeling well visited the hospital to test for the infection on the 28th and has been diagnosed with the virus,” announced her agency Pocketdol Studio Sunday.

“She has been transferred to an isolated facility and is following the necessary measures,” said the agency.
