SEOUL, Nov. 3 (Yonhap) -- There are discussions on reuniting former project boy-group “Wanna One” who received immense love from the public despite their short term of contract, 1 year and a half.
“We are positively considering the matter with all the members and discussing various plans such as MAMA, concerts and albums,” said CJ ENM Wednesday.
Wanna One was formed through Mnet audition program “Produce 101” season 2 in 2017 and grew into one of K-pop’s legendary idol groups gaining a blaze of popularity from debut.
Two of their albums exceeded a million sales and they flew to 14 cities overseas such as in America and Asia to hold 20 world concerts in total. Such accomplishments are rare for a rookie idol group.
Although, their official schedules were finished in January 2019, members such as Kang Daniel, Ha Sung-woon, Hwang Min-hyun, Ong Seong-woo and Park Ji-hoon are actively performing as solos or in groups in the entertainment scene.
As there were a number of fans wishing for their reunion, CJ ENM is reported to be discussing the matter in various perspectives with each member’s agency. If they manage to agree to bring back Wanna One, it will be a 3-year awaited reunion after the final concert in January 2019.
