SEOUL, Dec. 6 (Yonhap) -- Xdinary Heroes, the first rookie boy group to be launched by K-pop agency JYP's artist label Studio J in about six years since Day6 in 2015, has officially debuted on Monday.
"Our goal is to show never-before-seen musical tones through Xdinary Heroes," the boy band said during an online showcase held Monday. "We will do our best for every stage."
The group name, Xdinary Heroes, is short for the words "extraordinary heroes," meaning anybody can become a hero.
Xdinary Heroes consists of six members, including drummer Gun-il, bassist Jooyeon, keyboardist O.de and Jungsu, as well as guitarist Gaon and Jun Han.
The debut track "Happy Death Day," written and composed by members Jungsu and Gaon, satirizes the psychology of people with dual personalities and takes on a new interpretation of life and death.
"This song satirizes people who are pretentious and hypocritical," member Gaon said. "We will showcase bold ambition as members of Generation Z."
The members had different stories in how they entered JYP Entertainment and became final members of the band.
Xdinary Heroes' leader and drummer, Gun-il, said, "I immigrated to the U.S. with my parents when I was 13 years old," adding, "I had to adapt to an unfamiliar environment and felt depressed due to language barriers. However, I later started to learn drums from a close friend."
