"Enjoy with AR·VR"…Baekje Royal Palace Museum in Iksan to open in April

IKSAN, Mar. 27 (Yonhap) -- The “Baekje Royal Palace Museum” in Iksan, North Jeolla Province, where you can enjoy and experience the history of Baekje, will be open at the end of next month.

The new exhibition is differentiated from the existing museum using ICT technology, and you can vividly experience and enjoy the process of formation of Baekje Royal Palace and the excavated Cultural Heritage through AR(Augmented Reality), VR(Virtual Reality), and hologram.

The exhibition, which was promoted as one of the projects to preserve and manage Wanggung-ri Ruins, a World Heritage Site, will expand the exhibition space and provide diverse contents by renovating the existing Wanggung-ri Ruins exhibition.

Iksan, which contains the Royal Way of Baekje, the UNESCO World Heritage Site, includes the site of Mireuksa, which was the largest temple and stone pagoda in East Asia, as well as Mireuksaji pagoda and Wanggung-ri Ruins, and this 710,00 square meters of area is designated as a Cultural Heritage preservation site.

The staff of the city said, "We will help invigorate the local tourism by providing contents that both citizens and tourists can enjoy by combining various ICT technologies with the Wanggung-ri Ruins, a World Heritage Site."
